Weight Management Seminar Program
The Sessions

1.      1. Introduction to Weight Management and assessment of your current position.
Overview of principles of weight management.  Assessment of students’ current health, fitness and weight position and recommendations of targets. Includes weigh in and measurements.
(Optional - Fit File – complete a Fitness Assessment and print report for each client)
Optional - 15-20 min coaching session  eg basic cardio information.

2.      2. Diet Options and setting of nutritional targets.
Discussion of food side of weight management.  Choosing eating plan – options, pros and cons. Choosing calorie or other levels. Importance of food diaries.
(Optional - Fit File – Set up personal and weight targets for each client and print, using meal plans and issue food diary)
Optional - 15-20 min coaching session  eg fat burning options

3. Exercise Targets
Review of last weeks food diaries. Weigh In & measurements. Discussion of the importance of physical activity– cardio and strength training - in weight loss and maintenance.
(Optional - Fit File – Set up Exercise Targets, printing exercise plans,  exercise diary)
Optional - 15-20 min coaching session  eg strength exercises.

4. Nutrition
Review of food and exercise diaries. Nutrition overview – importance of nutritional elements, vitamins and minerals.  Eating disorders.
(Optional - Fit File – From last weeks food diaries - Nutritional Analysis, Weekly Food summaries, Food Database and recipes)
Optional - 15-20 min coaching session 

5. Monitoring and Feedback
Review of diaries. The importance of monitoring against targets and re-setting of targets. Getting information about weight management. Dealing with stalling and plateaus.
(Optional - Fit File – Reports, Graphs, Articles and Tools)
Optional - 15-20 min coaching session

6. Summary – The Way Ahead
Weigh in and measurement and final review of food and exercise diaries. How they have done so far – improvement from week 1. Awards for achievement.  Identification of barriers / stumbling blocks and advice on way ahead. Re-setting of targets for next 6 weeks.
(Optional Fit File – Reports, Graphs, Targets.)
