Recording & Printing Fitness Assessments

Print an empty form

There are a number of items of information needed from your client, so print a blank form to enter the details into. Go to SETUP and click on Print Assessment Proforma at the bottom of the screen.

Entering information

To record fitness assessment, simply perform your standard assessment with your client and enter the information into the SETUP area for that client.

Most of the information boxes are self-evident. However, there are a couple that may benefit from explanation –

Strength measurement – the example on Fit File refers to Chest Lifts as a very simple determinant of muscular strength. You need to measure how many chest lifts the client can do in one minute.

The criteria used for grading is –

Less than 15 in one minute      Poor

16-25                                                                           Average

26-40                                                                           Good

40+                                        Excellent

If you prefer, you can use any other indicator or muscular strength, as long as the numbers above are valid for the exercise chosen.

Endurance measurement - the example on Fit File refers to Jumping Jacks as a very simple determinant of endurance or stamina. You need to measure the RHR before the jacks, then measure how many jumping jacks the client can do in one minute, and finally measure how long it takes for the pulse to return to normal.

These can be in cm or inches – whichever you prefer, as long as you are consistent when recording changes.

This final section is the starting point for anything the client particularly wants to improve upon or track over a period of time. In this example, the client wants to improve their time to run 10k – starting point is 75 mins, and wants to get down to a small dress size – start point is 16.

You do not have to use these if not relevant
