Printing Problems
Printing Problems in PFM
A few schools have reported printing issues in PFM and have passed on their error information. The error they have reported is a Microsoft Printer error number 484. The new upgrade MAY correct these issues on its own, but we would advise the following action in addition.
The following fix has been provided by Microsoft technical support -
Reinstalling the printer to the system setup locally should resolve this issue. Please do this actually sat at the client machine rather than remotely, as remote installation seems to aggravate this problem.
Open the Control Panel, double-click the Printers icon. Find the printer you print to and DELETE it from the list. Now reinstall by choosing Add Printer. Select as appropriate. Once complete return to PFM.
Go into PFM - Screen
Enquiries - Printer Setup - Select the correct printer, and click on PRINT.
You may also wish to turn on the REQUEST PRINTER option in PFM - Tools - Click on REQUEST PRINTER. This will force the computer to select the printer everytime a printout is requested, and avoid hanging.
